Lead Physician
Dr. Monique Hamilton is the Lead Physician at the DMMC.
Dr. Hamilton was inspired to pursue a career in Medicine by her mother. Her
mother is a Registered Nurse. Dr. Hamilton’s early fascination with science and her genuine desire to help others, became an inspiration. She was born in
Brooklyn, NY and raised in New York City where she overcame several
challenges to realize her desire to become a Medical Doctor.
Dr. Hamilton completed her undergraduate degree at HBCU: Lincoln University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and was elected to the Beta Kappa Chi Honor Society. She went on to Medical School at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Hamilton then completed her Internal Medicine Residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in NYC. Dr. Hamilton spent several years as a Clinical Instructor teaching Internal Medicine residents and medical students at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY and HUMC-Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ. Additionally, she worked Private Practice in Englewood, NJ.
Dr. Hamilton is Board Certified Internal Medicine. Her clinical experience is
significant with managing patients with chronic medical conditions such as
chronic musculoskeletal pain, anxiety, migraine headaches, inflammatory bowel disease and others. She is currently registered as a physician to certify patients for the New Jersey Medical Marijuana Program (NJMMP). The DMMC and its Associate Physicians will include registration within all 33 U.S. states and the District of Columbia that currently offer medical marijuana. The DMMC shall open and operate satellite offices in partnership with its Associate Physicians and practitioners as part of its growth strategy throughout the United States.
